Folivora's Fall

Folivora's Fall is a 2,5D stealth, puzzle, platform game in which you play as a sloth trying to escape a haunted mansion trying to not be spotted by the animal ghosts.

What I worked On:

  • Main puzzle mechanic
  • Big wolf AI

Main puzzle mechanic:

The main puzzle mechanic involved these spirit cannons that can shoot a wisp and if it touches a door it will open or close it.

To make the puzzles a bit more complicated I added splitters that can redirect and or split the wisp, and too make it easier for the player to understand how the puzzle works I added an aiming line.

Big Wolf AI

I made the AI for the giant wolf in the background of the game. it will patrol the outside of the house and every once in a while it will peek through a window, indicated by it howling before approaching it.

I also linked up the animations of the wolf depending on which action he is performing and what direction it is facing.

I also made creaky parts in the floor which will make the wolf immediately go to the closest window, this allowed the level designers more control over the AI.

while the wolf is looking through the window, if you step into its line of sight it will attack you, indicated by the glowing red area.
